Group Dynamics

We Americans have a love/hate relationship with groups. On the one hand, we seek a sense of belonging. Communities, that share our interests and values, such as churches, sports teams, fraternities, provide support and camaraderie. But outsiders can feel a sense of alienation. On the other hand, we each have a strong individualistic streak that seeks to stand out from the crowd, to be unique. This dichotomy is explored through narrative paintings.
